I did a little experimenting and created a great cake recipe. I have a homemade recipe for a white cake, which is a little denser than a box cake - more like a shortcake texture, but very good. You could use any white cake mix. :) My family loved this!
Vanilla Creme Filling
1 (3 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. milk
1/2 carton lg. Cool Whip, thawed
Mix pudding and milk, beat in cream cheese until smooth and fold in whipped topping. Spread over cooled cake and chill.
Strawberry Topping
1 qt. frozen sliced strawberries with juice, thawed
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
Cook in saucepan over medium heat until berries are soft and sauce begins to thicken and turn clear. Cool completely and spread over pudding filling of cake. Chill to set and serve.
